Capturing Life’s Stories
Everyone’s story is unique and deserves to be remembered. For patients who wish to share and record their stories we offer an opportunity to tell their stories through our biography service.
The process is simple, our trained biography volunteers visit patients in their own homes and listen, record and transcribe their personal stories, memories, thoughts and feelings, creating a book, which becomes a keepsake for families and future generations to enjoy.
For some patients, it’s a chance to reflect on their life, which can offer a therapeutic journey or a much needed distraction from their illness and worries. For others, it’s about leaving a legacy for their families.
Recently, Rochelle, one of our newer volunteers, worked with Dallas to create his biography. During one visit, Dallas told Rochelle that he had shared his stories with his adult grandchildren, showing them photos and other family memorabilia he had rediscovered while preparing for the biography. He said it was the best visit with so much talking, laughter and sharing of fond memories. It was a beautiful moment that highlights how these stories can connect families together.
Our biography service is about more than just capturing words on a page—it’s about celebrating lives, preserving memories, and creating moments of connection. We are grateful to our volunteers, whose dedication make this service possible. Their work brings comfort, joy, and a sense of purpose, to the patient when they are reflecting on their life
If you or someone you know would like to create a biography or volunteer to be part of this service, we would love to hear from you. Our biography service ensures that every story, every memory, is not only heard but also preserved for the future.
