Pamper Day for our patients
Last week Lake Taupō Hospice had the pleasure of hosting a Pamper Day for some of our patients, and it was truly a wonderful afternoon. The day was all about taking a break from the usual routine and giving our patients a chance to feel spoiled and cared for. We had everything from nail polish to blow drying, makeup, foot treatments, and even massages— these small pleasures certainly brought huge smiles.
This magical day was made possible by the incredible team from Toi Ohomai. Their beauty therapy teachers and students came in for the afternoon, offering their time and skills to make our patients feel special. It wasn’t just about the treatments; it was about the kindness and attention they poured into each person.
Throughout the afternoon laughter and quiet moments of relaxation filled our activities room. One of our patients, who hadn’t had her nails done in years, lit up with joy as her hands were treated to a fresh coat of polish. Another patient simply leaned back, eyes closed, enjoying the gentle massage of a foot treatment. These moments were priceless—a chance for them to feel truly pampered, cherished, and bring back a sense of normalcy and confidence.
It was a great reminder of how powerful these small acts of kindness can be. We’re so grateful to Toi Ohomai for helping us create a day filled with joy, relaxation, and human connection.
